Private support is needed each year for many “nuts and bolts” expenses that are not covered by state funds. Examples include: bringing faculty and graduate student candidates to campus for interviews; supporting special undergraduate academic activities outside of the classroom, including hikes, seminars, and involvement in professional societies; and emergency funds to repair or renovate equipment and space. These funds are vitally important to the operation of our department. To provide support for our general fund, please write “Biology General Fund” on the bottom of your check. This is the default fund if you give to the department without specifying where the funds should go.
