Internal Transfers into Biological Sciences

You are here: Home > Undergraduate Programs > Majors > Internal Transfers

Effective November 1st, 2007, Biological Sciences will only accept internal change of majors during the 3rd week of February and the 3rd week of September.

Students who wish to change their major to Biological Sciences need to meet with an academic advisor in the Undergraduate Advising Office located in 2089 Derring Hall. They will inform you of the curriculum and assist you in formulating a four-year plan for your new major.

The four-year-plan may be accessed at http://www.biol.vt.edu/undergraduate/forms.html.

Once you have developed a four-year-plan of study geared toward your personal career goals, you may turn it in to the Undergraduate Advising Office (2089 Derring Hall) for approval and pick up a Change of Major Form.

Students should be aware that to transfer into Biological Sciences, an overall 2.0 grade point average is needed and a 2.0 in BIOL courses with a "C" or better grade in Freshman Biology. Students must also have a 2.2 GPA within the major after attempting 45 hours.
